There is a version of your life
that feels like yours.
Therapy isn't one-size-fits-all. The way burnout lands on a nurse is different from the way it lands on a CEO. The grief of a chronic illness diagnosis is not the same as the grief of a relationship rupture or the loss of a loved one. I specialize across a range of experiences — because the people I work with require someone who understands their world.
Individuals
Question:
Sometimes what used to work isn't cutting it anymore. Chronic stress, anxiety, depression, and the accumulation of experiences you've never fully processed can make it difficult to feel connected yourself and the life you are living. I work with individuals who are ready to examine their beliefs, experiences, and life narratives, and how each of these have shaped their lives. Together we will identify your strengths and build upon them so you can design the life that you want to live, not the one you should live.
Couples
Question:
Whether you're experiencing communication breakdowns, recovering from a rupture, adjusting to a major life change together, or are feeling more like roommates than partners, couples therapy gives you a space to grow your relational toolset, identify your needs and and pave a path forward. Working with an experienced couples therapist can help you and your partner break the cycles that keep you stuck while each partner identifies their own needs and how they can show up as their best selves in the relationship.
Leaders
Are you a leader in a large company, small business entrepreneur and a persistent high achiever?
When you’re a leader, high achievement and having high expectations isn’t just a choice, its a requirement. Living with this pressure may not feel difficult at first, especially if you’re highly successful and have enjoyed the benefits of success and hard work. However, what often starts as a mere hunch or fleeting feeling in the early days of success can grow into a larger, heavier sense of feeling like something is missing or not quite right and can grow. Therapy provides a space to explore those experiences, inventory of your strengths, blindspots, and goals while working towards a work-life balance that serves you.
Parents
Are you a new parent navigating the postpartum world, or have you been at it for a while and need support as you navigate your ever-evolving relationship with your kids during the toddler, teen, or young adult phase?
Parenting, regardless of the stage, is a relentless role that can feel like it requires more energy or know-how than we have. Just as we start feel settled in one stage of our kids’ development, a new batch of changes arrives seemingly overnight to rock the boat. I provide support for you to understand your current roles and boundaries as you learn to navigate your way through parenthood as a sturdy leader while learning to connect with your children in ways that honors each individual.
Healthcare Professionals
Do you work in the healthcare system and see how it impacts both its workers and its patients?
Working in healthcare isn’t for the faint of heart. It often requires long and grueling hours, and it asks us prioritize our job and patients in a way that can easily turn into ignoring our own basic needs. This can look like burnout, cynicism, disconnection with those who don’t understand your job, and flat out life dissatisfaction. Therapy with me as a former nurse isn’t a fluffy experience of talking in circles about your emotions. It’s judgement-free space where you can step out of the caregiver role to process the difficulties of what you’ve seen in your career, identify and choose how you show up for your roles, and start paving your way to the life you want to live with the energy that brought you to the field.
Autoimmune & Chronic Conditions
Have you found it difficult to adjust to life after a diagnosis of a chronic or autoimmune condition?
Ive seen patients with autoimmune and chronic diseases fall through the cracks of the medical system from within the system as a nurse, adjacent to the system as a therapist, and from outside the system in my personal life. There is not a clear space for healing a chronic condition in our medical system. Our system is fantastic for addressing acute trauma and illness, but those with chronic illness tend to spend immeasurable energy as they search for doctors and answers about their condition, often times bouncing around from doctor to doctor without any clear answers. And if the conditions that you’re trying to address don’t show up in a way that can easily be measured by our current testing, you might quickly find yourself on a winding road looking for answers without finding any.
Tending to your mental health as you navigate a chronic condition is a pillar of your healthcare. In therapy together, we’ll look at your experiences to understand how you got to where you are, and identify your strengths and goals so you can reclaim your energy and move towards peace and healing.
